Tomas de Muzquiz, from Navarre, is not one of the great Carlist characters, but he is a representative man of that time.
Nephew of the Navarrese deputy in the Constituents Joaquín de Muzquiz, who was part of the Vevey meeting, premonitory of this war, Tomas de Muzquiz was part as an officer of the Guernica Battalion, after the war with the defeat he will never give up as we will see .
His campaign notes, which we collect here, will serve as a guide to this war in the Basque Country every day, and perhaps as a counterpoint to the journals of the liberal pharmacist from Guernica.
Two visions of the same society.
