Illustrations for the Memory of a Smuggler

Probably the two Carlist wars (1833-1840 and 1872-1876) marked the 19th century in the history of Spain.

These events opened and closed the consolidation process of the liberal state, being the so-called third war (1872-1876) the most important event.
The work of one of the greatest specialists in this movement, Víctor Sierra-Sesumaga Ariznavarreta, allows us to access his rich private collection of images and photographs of the time, which marked Spain nationally and internationally.

Sierra-Sesumaga documents us in detail the characters and events of this war and of the Carlism political and popular movement.
