Memories of a smuggler in the service of His Majesty

The "Memories" is an autobiographical account, in which, as in an adventure novel, Tirso Olazábal, moves his work, intrigues, penalties and conspiracies to provide weapons to the Carlist army, breaking the military and diplomatic blockade that troops and diplomats First Republic diplomats raised against D. Carlos VII.
Started from a young age, with twenty-three years, as provincial deputy in Guipúzcoa, in the elections of 1867, the last of the reign of Isabel II, will be elected deputy to Cortes. After the revolution of 1868, he joined the Carlism and was also part of the Constituent Courts.
Emigrated later to France, he was assigned by Carlos de Borbón and Austria-Este to his Council; He distinguished himself at the historic Carlist Board of Vevey in 1870, and when preparations for a new armed uprising began, he appeared at the Royal Carlista Board.
After the Third War, Don Carlos, in his confidence, appointed him his advisor, later giving him the position of president of the Armament Commission, dedicating himself almost exclusively to the acquisition of weapons and ammunition for his troops. His work, languages, knowledge of the world and intelligence managed to provide the Carlist Army with more than 40,000 rifles, some millions of cartridges and some 50 pieces of artillery. For his services he was appointed honorary colonel of Artillery, with the key of gentleman, the title of count of Arbeláiz and the Golden Fleece.
