One of the objectives of the Popular Foundation of Basque Studies (FPEV) is the recovery and cataloging of documents that allow to know the history, culture and life in the Basque Country. To this end, the FPEV is permanently recovering and digitizing historical funds that have been ceded by individuals, in order to safeguard them from their disappearance and so that those interested, present and future, can access them for analysis and disclosure.
In the documentary field, the importance of recovering historical archives of central figures of Carlism in the Third Carlist War, both in the actions in that war and in the subsequent life and political activities of D. Carlos VII in exile stand out. From this time a wide political correspondence between all the Carlism characters is conserved, as well as an important photographic collection in relation to the events and their leaders. Researchers interested in the funds of the Foundation, we refer you to the INVESTIGATORS section of this web page. Here we offer you a selection of our most informative files.
